Sandgrens clogs are made of natural materials, including vegetable tanned leather, nude vegetable tanned leather, and nubuck leather. Each type of leather requires specific care to ensure it lasts a lifetime.

Vegetable tanned leather is the purest form of tanned leather, as it does not contain any synthetic coatings. Over time, the leather will break in and become more supple. The nude-colored vegetable tanned leather will naturally darken with exposure to sunlight, a sign of its quality.

Nubuck leather, on the other hand, is sensitive to water and should not be exposed to heavy rain or submerged in water. To care for nubuck, we recommend using a horsehair brush to remove dirt and stains.

The wooden base of our clogs is a fragile material that is subject to chipping and cracking. We advise against wearing your wooden clogs in heavy rain, as the wood may swell. If you do encounter a chip, you can glue it back using wood glue or sand it down to even out the surface.

Regardless of the material, we recommend wearing your new Sandgrens clogs indoors for short periods at first, gradually increasing the wear time to allow the leather and wood to mold to your feet. This break-in process may cause some initial discomfort, but with proper care, your Sandgrens clogs will become a comfortable and beloved part of your wardrobe for years to come.
